Procrastination, if you do a quick word search on Google, you will find this.

In other words, it is the one single holy word in the dictionary of a below-average university student.

Most people would frown at the idea of procrastination, but I could assure you that they are the people who have never done it right. Done right? it comes off as the most thrilling and exciting idea ever borne to a poor student’s mind. Have an assignment due in two days? Why do it today? Why do it tomorrow? Why not start doing it three hours before the deadline in a mad rush and submit it in seconds before the deadline? That, my friends, is fun. Also, as they say, diamonds are made under pressure.

A little warning to the noobs out there who want to try out this new exciting ‘thing’.

Do NOT try this alone without the supervision of a seasoned procrastinator by your side.

You WILL end up panicking and failing a bunch of subjects. Like everything that university students do, the right way to procrastinate is an art, a very elegant one at that. It has been passed down through generations to what it is today. the subtle art of knowing your limits is very important. Because let’s face it, a whole semesters worth of advanced semiconductor physics is not really the kind of thing that a person could cram into his/her brain the night before the exam. So, the time frame of the actual procrastination should be varied according to the syllabus, brain capacity and surprisingly the lecturer. If the lecturer is a happy go lucky nice guy, then study for six hours before the exam and write absolute gibberish. but if he’s the kind of guy who looks like he would kill you with a pencil (not to be confused with Keanu Reeves), get that lazy backside out of bed and study for a week without sleep. That part takes an actual artist to perform, mind you.

All in all, procrastination done right would be the best way to have the most amount of fun and make the best memories in your university life.

You haven’t had any fun if you haven’t had any deadlines to run after.
